Has anybody else had a problem using the Kindle app in High Sierra? I tried installing the App Store version on my 2010 MacBook Air, running High Sierra (the latest OS it'll run, sob!), and it fails to launch. It just bounces in the dock a few times, then gives up. I've tried completely uninstalling, then reinstalling. I've tried the Amazon website app instead but that also fails to launch. Everything else on the Air is working fine, only Kindle is a problem.
The app works fine on my MacBook Pro running Mojave, also the iOS and Windows 10 apps and the web app are good, it just seems to be High Sierra that has a problem.

Amazon recently (and finally) updated the app to 64 bit so it would work in Mojave. That might be the problem.
It's definitely the latest update that's the problem. If I restore the previous version it works, but the OS whinges on about it not being optimised (i.e. 32 bit) and the App Store keeps nagging me to update it (with seemingly no way to hide the update, right clicking does nothing). I suppose I'll just have to wait for Amazon to release another update which, at their glacial pace of software development, will probably be quite some time off!
