I have a couple apps that will not delete no matter what. Tapping the (-) symbol produces no contextual menu. iOS 26.0.1.

It's happened occasionally. Reboot the phone and see if they go away. If you can remember what they were, redownload them if it will let you and then delete them. If all else fails, hope 26.1 nukes them.

Yeah many reboots later with no luck. 26.0 --> 26.0.1 didn't fix it either. Fingers crossed for the next one.
 
What happens if you just long press the icon rather than going into edit/jiggly mode first? Does the 'Remove App' option show then?

Nada. These must be previously downloaded apps that got caught in limbo somehow.
