Anybody else having issues with remote app?

on my watch and phone it only works sometimes. i have to restart the Apple TV and it will work. then sometimes it won't find it and clear out of the devices from the Appletv app on the phone. Any way to fix this?

Works every time for me with my iPhone, sometimes I have to force-quit and restart the watch app. I find though that I prefer the physical remote over either, though that might change when they come out with the Siri capable version.

hmm. I've had issues for a while. both on same network. apple router. 5ghz network
i don't understand it. should i do a factory reset?
