So when I first got my phone I restored from a back up. Battery life seemed fine but after reading about everybody getting way better life after starting the phone fresh, I wiped it and started with a clean slate, but my battery is definitely dying faster than before! What's the deal?

My guess is your fresh install has everything back to default, including brightness, push notifications, email updates, etc. Maybe the previous restore had been slightly optimized based on your use and hence, are seeing more battery life being chewed up?

I don't know. I think the whole claim that fresh installs result in better battery life are false and have more to do with setting changes than the install itself.

Makes sense, although I put all my settings back t what they were. I guess I'll just have to spend some more time with it and see.
