Anybody here got their Mac stolen by delivery driver?

Hi, I heard that some Apple customers got their devices stolen by driver. How bad is the situation? Usually I pick up in local store but for unknown reason, this option has been unavailable for some customized Mac since about 1.5 months ago.

I know about that case. I wonder if it is just a small number of individual cases or it is widespread enough to avoid delivery at all cost.

Several posts on Reddit also.

they tend to all be about same day delivery.

Even still compared to the number of orders that must go out, they have to be a relatively small number of isolated incidents.

What is wrong with same day delivery? Not sure if the same group of drivers are used.

Same day delivery is by fast food gig workers.

At least in the US, same day delivery is done by Instacart/Uber Eats drivers. So I suspect risk is higher there than with UPS/FedEx
