Is it possible to get a prepaid SIM that you can use data on in Ireland?

I am staying in Dublin. O2 and Vodafone do not do prepaid data. Which seems crazy to me as they don't seem to want my money.

I have Meteor prepaid/pay as you go sim and they constantly pitch the data to me, I constantly deny it.

So yea, seems like Meteor does it.

I could be mistaken but it seems that three only offer data for USB dongles not mobiles?

All networks have the same data plan for pre pay users:

99c a day for 50mb of data.

Just top up your account, and if you use data you get charged. If you dont use data you dont get charged, simple. :)

Its not a stunning offer for iphones and the like but its functional as long as you dont stream music, video etc all day (or even short periods)

Sorry to bump this but have a related question...

I'm on o2 UK and am heading to Dublin for a while next month. If I get an o2 IE sim, what are the chances of my presumably unlocked iPhone recognising it?
