I've been wanting a USB2 multi-format flash card reader for a while, since I have a couple of older cameras that're only USB1.
Seeing one of those "free with mail-in rebate" offers at DealMac, I figured what the heck, and ordered one of these:
http://www.eaglebit.com/EagleBit_USB_2_0_External_Flash_Memory_Card_Reader_p/eb-270-00007.htm
I wasn't expecting much, but it seems to freeze up entirely half the time I try to read a MemoryStick, and when I stick a piece of SmartMedia in, it briefly flashes the activity light then does nothing--tried it with a couple of different ones and won't mount anything.
The OS does recognize it as a generic storage device, but I'm kinda wondering if anybody else has one of these--did I get what I paid for, or is it just DOA?
