Anybody succeed in making the MBP 2010 17" to work with 4K monitor?

Hello, I recall somebody mentioning that the MBP 2010 17" (Nvidia GeForce GT 330M 512MB and Intel HD Graphics 288 MB as reported by Sierra) is not capable of driving 4K monitor. Anybody succeed it making it works? It is true that it is the resolution rather than the size of the monitor that matters?

Hello,

the maximum external resolution for this MBP model is : 2560 x 1600 pixels.

A "4K" monitor is 4096 or more pixels wide.

The physical size of the monitor does not matter.
