I bought my series 1 SS 38mm AW in april 2015, and it has served me well. For about 2 months I even surfed every day with it (I used the "other" setting in the workout app). It did a great job of measuring and archiving all of my health data for that time, but after about a month I started having touch screen issues, and then suddenly the thing started crashing and acting odd.

When I brought it back to apple it worked, but about 30% of the touchscreen was totally insensitive and wouldn't register input. I ended up getting it replaced, and figured that the next version of the AW would allow for a "surfing" exercise app and perhaps even gps or LTE. The series 2 appears to offer all of what I wanted, minus LTE connectivity... but I'm ok without that. The GPS and better water resistance, along with the ability to get accurate caloric count for such a dynamic and very hard to measure workout are exactly what I'm looking for.

So my question is: Has anybody have any experience using the series 2 surfing? Does it work well? When I used the "other" workout, with my series 1 it would generally register between 200 and 300 Kcal active calories burned per hour in the water, but I never did the math to see if this was a truly accurate count.
