Anybody upgraded from very first MBP to Early -08 Penryn?

Has anyone upgraded from the first 1.83 Core due to the latest Penryn, last generation, not unibody?

If so what are your thoughts, was it worth it and if so what has improved?

Well, I thought this one was more specific vs the other one which focus on if people have the last gen MBP in their laps. This one would be a direct comparison between these two models, 1.83 and 2.4 Penryn.
