do any of you have experience with this? i found the link from sourceforge.net and wonder if it's worth trying over some of the other plugins to let me check my Hotmail account.

HTTPMail is based on WebDAV, and is a way to access remote resources using simple HTTP request (which means that you can also access it via a proxy server as well!). Hotwayd acts as a proxy between your POP mail reader and the HTTPMail servers. Simply set it up as a internet service on your machine or another machine on your network and enjoy using your favourite mail client via the POP-3 protocol to collect your HTTPMail emails. "
