Anybody using this APP "Memory Clean" is used to free the RAM space in your system. Even when I run it and it says now available memory " " when I cross check in iStat Menus the total memory used is still the same as it was before running Memory Clean. What do I do ?

There is no need for this at all, as T5Brick says OSX manages memory brilliantly. When you look at the memory used in activity monitor (I still have no idea why people use separate apps for this) as long as your memory pressure graph is green then you have more than enough memory.

Memory Clean is a scam app that does nothing but make your computer perform *at best* the same, or at worst slows it down since it's actively working against the memory management that the OS is doing for optimum performance.

Imagine your RAM is like a serving dish and the customers are the computer. The hard drive is the freezer and the ice cream is data that your customers want to eat.

Normally the OS keeps a nice selection out - strawberry, vanilla, chocolate but it can only fit those three flavours. This is fine since 90% of the time people want those flavours and they're nice and soft and fast to serve. Suddenly someone wants banana flavour so the computer puts one flavour back in the freezer (the strawberry - no one has asked for any in a while, and the chocolate and vanilla are still popular) and puts the banana one in its place. This takes a little bit of time. Putting the strawberry away is instant, but thawing out the banana a little takes a little bit of time (copying from disk).

What memory cleaner does is put all of the flavours back in the freezer and says "look how much free space you have on the serving dish! Isn't that better?!". Then the customers want some ice cream and you have to get them out of the freezer again and wait for them to thaw a little bit before they're ready to serve. As soon as the customer is gone Memory Cleaner puts them all back in the freezer again.

TL:DR - Memory Cleaner is less than worthless. It is actively slowing your computer down and working against the OS.

I've used it before, but not to clear any memory caches, but simply as a free solution to plopping something up on the menu bar in order to monitor my memory usage at a glance when I was determining if it were necessary to upgrade or not.

I uninstalled it and removed all of its system files a short time after. Most of the posts here cover its lack of functionality.

It's utterly useless. The OS can take care of itself without any app's help.
