Curious if any new M2 MBA owners were able to get any UI lag or delays from multitasking, lots of safari tabs, big Photos libraries, just having lots of stuff open at once?

If so, what’s your configuration?

Curious about the limitations if these beautiful new fanless machines!

On the flip side, if you have not had any such lag, what is the max number of tabs and windows/tasks youve had running at once?

I have the 512/8GB version & I've yet to experience any slowdown at all while using the laptop. However, I do have a very tame workflow at the moment. I've mainly been using a combination of safari, pages, & light office. No video editing or high intensity work, so of course the machine has been handling things quite easily so far.

The most amount of tabs I'll have open at any given time is probably like 5 or 6, so I haven't really pushed the machine hard at all. The 8GB of ram has been perfectly adequate for me. We'll see how things fare as my production/usage changes over time.

On my M2 Air I have 3 desktops running, 13 Chrome tabs open, 5 Safari tabs open, Excel, MoneyWell, PCalc, Music, 1Password, Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Remote Desktop, Calendar, Notes, Twitter, Sonos Desktop and Photos open, and I have not seen one beachball or experienced any slowdowns and the swap file is currently at 15MB.

iStat Menus updated their app to support the M2 chips and my current CPU core average temperature is around 35-37C. Even when it jumps to the 50s, it falls right back down within seconds.

Granted, I have the 10C/24GB/2TB model, but I know I can throw much, much more at this Air as what I am currently using and running doesn't seem to be making a dent.
