Trying to gauge whether this is an actual viable option for buying an iPad 2. The releases said that some AT&T stores would have available inventory following the launch. Anybody had luck buying on site? I know you can order in-store as well but that doesn't seem any better than just ordering online.

Anyone bought iPad 2 in an AT&T store since launch?

You're much better off chasing one down in a big box store. Here in NYC, ATTt stores got a very small handful each and have had no more since launch day. The store around the corner from me received 4 16gb and 4 32gb and a salesperson told me they got a call from the regional manager ordering the 32gbs to be shipped back to the home office on launch day. We both guessed that the regional manager had some friends who wanted one.
I was told in a few company-owned stores that they do not expect stock for 30 days. Only a couple of stores had any at launch and those that did got 2 or 3 iPad 2 units.
