Anyone bought iphone or anyone phone from bestbuy before?

I am not account holder, but I am authorized user in our family AT&T Account. Bestbuy rep told me that I have to bring account holder for an upgrade. Wth...
Anyone got any phones from bestbuy (Contract ones) without having an account holder present? I thought authorized users are good enough.

They told be authorized user was fine. In fact she suggest it when I asked if the account holder needed to be present. And she sounded very confident. I think you're good to go.

Bestbuy mobile manager told me that I am not cool enough to buy an iphone because I am not authorized user. I was very upset, but I thought I could be wrong. I already contacted corporate office in email, so I will hear something in email. This guy was a manager, so I will ask corporation to educate their employees because this kind of misinformation drives me nuts.
