With the solid discounts going on, I figured I'd check out ram (need 4GB for a 2.8C2D iMac) on ebay. But I'm a little wary of getting uber-cheap ram just to save $20.

Has anyone had good luck buying on ebay? If so, from who?

For $20.00, I think I would prefer to purchase from Crucial oe Other World Computing. They offer life time warranties on their products. Just my $.02.

If it helps, I have had two experiences buying Mac RAM on eBay.
Recently I bought a 512MB PC133 DIMM for my Digital Audio G4.
It was advertised as Crucial brand, CL2, and pulled from a Quicksilver.
It was $25 with free shipping and works fine. The seller's username was "videopuppy".

A couple of years ago I took a chance on cheap RAM on eBay from a different seller (advertised as PC only) and it didn't work at all.

Thanks everyone. I'm aware of the options and will likely buy from either OWC or Crucial. Just figured I'd ask...

If you are looking on ebay because you want cheap ram you could also check out crucial ram its cheap and the company is very very well known for their products which means that they would be a reliable company. This is just a thought though
