Anyone checked their photo albums since iOS4 install?

I just installed iOS4 on both our 3Gs and 3G; on both phones there are approx 500 high quality pic's at approx 1000 x 750 pixels size .... all pictures seem to have lost quality completely (on both phones) to the point that they're now useless for viewing on screen. Previously, clarity was crystal, now they're grainy and almost indistinguishable.

Anyone else checked this or experienced this problem?
 
Did you happen to just update your iTunes as well? I remember one of the release notes of the version right before the current one saying something to the effect that it was going to reduce the size of on-device image galleries.

I wonder if that's what you're seeing. I never looked at mine to try to determine what they actually did.
 
Mine are poor quality as well

Hasn't affected those pics on the camera roll only those synced from the computer

I updated my iTunes to 9.2 a few days back when it was released. Does this mean no more quality pic's on the phone?

Arrgggghhhh!

EDIT: for the record, I'm talking photographs taken with a pro-camera and sync'd to iPhone photo galleries, not pictures taken with the built in camera.
 
I updated and had the same problems with my photos. I plugged my phone back into iTunes and I have started a sync and iTunes is currently optimising my photos during the sync. I don't know if this will sort it but hopefully. I'll report back when it's finished.....

Funny you should say that, just deleted all mine and tried a smaple with one album, seems once they've been re-optimised, they appear OK - phew!
 
Happened to mine too...though I can easily get them back from the computer. Images in the Saved Photos folder seem to be unaffected.
