Seems a lot of negativity this year about 17 pro and pro max. I upgraded from a 16 pro. I like everything apart from the change from Titanium to Aluminium. Other than that is a great phone. Everyone else happy?

I'm happy.

I love the Cosmic Orange color, and since that's only made possible because of aluminum, I'm even OK with that. Going caseless, and so far not a scratch or a ding on it. Takes great pictures (some of which is due to improvements in post processing in iOS 26 because I saw them with my 16 Pro also). I love the rounded edges that make it so much more comfortable to hold. All of the negativity I feel has to do with iOS 26 bugs and I'm hopeful they will be addressed sooner rather than later.

Very happy so far. Better reception and service, better battery, aluminum change feels nicer in hand. I’ll mostly run a pitaka or similar car for some grip and slight protection.

I have the Max Cosmic Orange and love it! First iPhone since the 7 that I haven’t bought a case. Still on the fence given scratch rumors. It was actually two of the Apple Store people who convinced me to try without a case.

Some don’t like the design. When I saw it in person I really liked it a lot. Definitely better than in pictures.

Also caseless here. I went by the Apple Store yesterday and looked at all the phones. None of them had any scratches. They showed MagSafe rings on the back glass. But that was easily wiped off. They did have security guards standing by the phones, and I’m sure that put a damper on anyone who wanted to prove how easily they scratch by beating them up.

I’m careful with my phones. I don’t stick them in a pocket with coins and keys. I try not to drop them. My trade in 16 Pro was caseless for a year and didn’t have a scratch on it. (Yes I realize that aluminum is softer than titanium.)

I love the orange color and don’t want to cover it up.

Very happy with the upgrade. The 17 pro runs way cooler than my 16 pro, I’m noticing better reception, noticeably better pictures, and best of all, substantially better battery life

I’m happy. I slapped a screen protector (Spigen) and case (Nomad traditional Horween leather) on it the second it came out of the box, like I’ve done with all my previous phones. So I don’t really notice the aluminum vs titanium. It could be plastic for all I care as it’s in the case and I only feel the leather case.

I had already updated to IOS26 on my 16 pro, and did the phone to phone wireless transfer, so operationally the phone is the same. I’m getting better battery life. Haven’t really tested the cameras out yet, other than a couple pics of my dog, but everything I’ve read tells me they are better.

It’s a phone. Essential to my daily life, which is why I choose to update the phone annually. In truth, there isn’t a huge difference between them but I see that as a good thing. Other than the hour or so required for setup, my new phone is operational and ready to go to work for me.

Happy with mine as well. I’m not all that wild about some of the aesthetic choices Apple made. But I’m very happy with the much improved camera system that takes 24 MP images from all 3 sensors. The battery life is a nice improvement. And I’m actually also finding the screen improvements are more than they sounded like in the keynote. The AR coating isn’t a dramatic difference. But it does pretty much eliminate the reflection of my face in the glass in indoor lighting. And combined with the brighter screen, this is easily the most legible iPhone in direct sunlight I have ever had. Obviously haven’t tested the scratch or drop resistance of the screen but it looks very promising from what I’ve seen from the YouTubers.

Honestly, if you can get over the change to aluminum, this is a pretty solid year over year upgrade for the Pros.

Went from 16 Pro Max to 17 Pro. 16PM was too big and heavy. I only went with the larger size for the battery life. 17 Pro battery is on par with 16PM, but the chassis is definitely not as premium as the titanium or stainless steel of previous generations.

I might return the 17 Pro in favour of the regular 17 if the 17’s battery life is OK. I don’t use the telephoto enough to justify the massive premium.

I was not happy with 16 pro battery life. It’s what drove me to get a 16 plus.

I am happy with 17 pro battery life. I think aluminum is a net positive over titanium

I sadly returned my 17 pro today. Just wasn’t doing it for me. Sure it has some good features but just not worth it over the 16 pro which I love and it’s a great design.

Worth noting that I had the silver and changing a few cases had resulted in scratches of the aluminium. Very worrying for long term durability.

If Apple comes up with a stunt and takes this newly released iPhone 17 pro, packages it as a surprise iPhone 18 Pro and releases it next week; everyone here would say, "I'm glad I returned my iPhone 17 Pro because this iPhone 18 pro is amazing!" knowing it's the exact same phone. OOOH now the phone has a bump and the chip is one number higher... The 16 is plenty great, just stop.

I am happy going from a 16 PM to a 17 PM other than my 17PM has the green screen tint at certain angles and its very distracting. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it yet, because there aren't enough 17 PM in stock for me to exchange the phone until I get one that I'm satisfied with.
