I know most apps can be updated to make it fill the screen properly but however, im thinking not all apps would not have the screen filled and they would have to edit the size to make it work properly, any idea what could be done.

Im sure the 4.7 wont see much of a difference but the 5.5. could be a concern.

All apps will fit both the 6 and 6+ perfectly fine (without having to be updated), Apple showed this off at the keynote.

I'm not bothered and it's certainly nothing to be concerned about. The iPhone 5 handled older apps fine while developers transitioned. I still have some apps on my 5S that haven't been optimised for the 16:9 ratio and I don't have any problems.

Not concerned but I was wondering whether any other apps will take advantage of the landscape dual pane or only the native apps? Would some apps iPad version be used or just iPhone or would it create the possibility of a third format if apps wanted to take advantage of it?

iPads have larger resolutions on them and a different screen ratio. You wouldn't be able to use iPad apps on a 6+. Developers can utilise landscape mode if they so wish.

From what I understand it's a third UI that developers can take advantage if they want to.

Not an issue with today's faster hardware namely graphics processing. It has a scaler built in.

They could have made landscape apps even for iPhone 4, but it would be too small for some people.

That wasn't the question. OP's concern is that 4.0" apps could look very stretched on the 6+ screen. If a regular DVD looks ok on a 32" TV, it tends to not look as good on a 46" TV and a 65" TV.

Apples and oranges. 3.5" apps appeared as 3.5" apps on 4.0" devices.

I'm just guessing, but I think it will just stretch out a bit to fill the screen while maintaining the aspect ratio. Kind of like running an old iphone app on 2x on an iPad. Who knows. Not super concerned. Within a few weeks, all of the big applications will be updated for the new screens. A few months later, most popular apps will support the native resolution. Flappy Bird will still look like crap in 1080p.

Sometime my local bank never update their own apps and it wouldnt even fill the whole iphone5 screen so that is one i gotta deal with but i can see some other apps being updated in time for the i6 launch.

Guess its not much to be concerned about right now at this moment.

Nope, no need to worry. The CNN app they showed during the Keynote has yet to be updated for the 6 and 6 Plus, all apps will scale.

Here, 5s on the left, 6 in the center and 6 Plus on the right.
