Anyone decoding Blu Rays with a MBP?

I was thinking about grabbing an external drive and doing some backups and such. Was wondering if anyone had been doing this and how much resources does it take up? I heard PAVTUBE was good.

While it's true there wasn't a way to do it, there is now. While apple continues to resist the change to blue ray, you can do it on your own.

Assuming you have an after market blue ray drive, here's what you need:

• MakeMKV
• VLC
• Script to stream output of MakeMKV to VLC

I can't say for sure. I'm waiting to purchase a blue ray drive. I've got the enclosure now just need the drive. I've been eyeing up this Sony Optiarc BD-5730S-01

I've seen it on eBay for around 160ish and read great reviews on MakeMKV's forums but being that I just bought a new uMBP and OCZ SSD, I'm going to wait a month or 2 to purchase but as soon as I do i'm going to be all over MakeMKV
