I can't seem to get on and I guess this is a problem with having a major aspect of your day be tied to the cloud.

Boo.

Nope. I use Adium, but half of my buddies apparently use Meebo as my contact list is about 50% less than normal!

FWIW:
http://mashable.com/2009/01/15/meebo-down/

Meebo, the web-based multi-protocol IM tool used by more than 30 million people, has been down for the last hour or so. The service recently added support for Facebook Chat, which was then blocked by Facebook, but we don’t think that has anything to do with today’s outage. We’ve contacted the company to find out what’s going on and when service might be restored.

Update: Meebo says the problem is due to a power outage at one of their ISPs and they are working with them to restore service.

The most popular alternative to Meebo is probably eBuddy. Meanwhile, the best place to confirm that a service is down and commiserate with other users remains Twitter search.
