Recently instead of sugar Ive started using molasses as a sweetner in coffee sometimes...I was surprised not only at how good it was, but also that it gave me kind of an extra zing over regular sugar or just plain unsweetened coffee...

Anyone else use molasses as a sweetner?

I have to say, this one is a new one for me.

I do like molasses to sweeten things like beans, barbecue sauce, things like that - but I've never heard of it being used in coffee.

But no matter - if you like it, I'm all for it. :)

This is a new one for me too, but I really like the idea! I'll give it a try tomorrow (if I can remember that early in the morning ;))

How much do you usually put in?

Usually about a teaspoon per cup...(regular size cup, which I guess is 6 ounces).

It could entirely be my imagination, but I swear it gives me an added boost...
