I've been working on a 13" MBP (2015 base model) for the past couple of months. I don't own it, but I wouldn't want to. I think that's probably the #1 reason why I'm not willing to look at models earlier than 2016. At 100%, the screen feels like it's at 90%. Comparing it side-by-side with my iPad 3, the Macbook Pro 2015 13" at 100% brightness is as bright as the iPad 3 at 90% brightness. The iPad 3 at 100% brightness looks great, but the 13" 2015 rMBP can't reach that.

that's true. got 2013 model here (15'). feels like the display is half the brightness as my iphone

If you think that's dim, going from my iPP to my 2012 pre-rMBP is ridiculous. I thought the MBP was dim before hand but using the two side by side in the day time it's glaringly obvious.
