No it will not feel weird. I always loved the width of the iPhone. It can easily fit on my right hand. I was using my HTC Rezound for a few days while I was trying to sell my 4S. I ended up switching back to my 4S. I could not stand the size of the Rezound nor could I stand the Android software on it.

nope...I like the idea. I didn't want a bigger screen because it would be hard to operate with one hand. The taller and not wider was perfect.

It's not really that tall compared to most phones. At 16:9, it's the same aspect ratio as practically every Android phone on the market, just smaller.

My opinion is that the screen is not bigger it's longer,
so I would say it's 3.5" screen extended long,
the size of the picture or the letters ail be the same we will just get more line of text,
and on landscape we will have two empty lines

No i mean do you think that it's going to be weird b/c it's tall but not wide.

no...That's what I was trying to say.Shouldn't feel weird, should feel about the same since it's the same width and that's actually what you "feel".

I feel like the phone will feel weird in the hand since it's longer but not wider. What do you guys think?

Well if you believe everyone at the event, it feels the same as the 4/4S. It's just when you reach for the top of the screen you have to reach a little farther.

I have been thinking that will be the case - we are strange creatures - we dont handle change well - think most will love it!

I feel like it's going to make us stretch up our thumbs or have to adjust the phone in our hand to reach the top of the screen.

iPhone 5 is 4.87 inches tall
iPhone 4(s) is 4.5 inches tall

You'll notice it when comparing the two phones, but I have a feeling most people will adapt to it quite quickly and not even notice after a short time.

No, not weird. It is not that much longer.

Even if it is a bit weird at first, we will all get used to it fast. Like a new car.

I have to say that while i am looking very forward to getting this new iPhone this is a concern of mine. My wife is on t-mobile and we recently upgraded her to the HTC One S. It has a 4.3 inch screen that is long and narrow. We did not like it so much that we sent it back. I am hoping that 4" is just the right length so as not to feel weird in the hand.

I had the HTC One S and loved the screen. Maybe this will be perfect for me! :D

The Barely There iPhone 5 case that I ordered from Case-Mate was delivered today. I have a similar case on my iPhone 4. I held the two cases up back-to-back and the difference in height is less than 1/2 of the size of the black area on the bottom of the iPhone 4. I held the new case in my hand and it feels just the same. I'm very pleased. The size difference is not just external; it will mainly be in the screen size.

holding it in your hand will feel the same as the iP4/4S because its the same width, unless you hold your phone lengthwise (in which case, you'd typically be operating it with 2 hands).

another benefit to a taller phone is that when the speaker is up to your ear, the mic will be closer to your mouth, meaning you will have clearer conversations.
