When I first heard about the iPhone 6 screen size, I figured that 4.7" would be the maximum size that is comfortable to use one handed.

What I realized instead was that 4.7" is the minimum size needed to be UNCOMFORTABLE with one hand.

It's just ever so slightly too big. I wish they had gone with 4.5" and a thicker phone with a tinnier bezel.

this is a good phone for you...

The problem is not the 4.7" screen itself. The problem is how large Apple made the 4.7" phone. It's the largest 4.7" phone on the market I believe, essentially the same size as 5 inch phones.

It is possible to make a small 4.7" phone--see the Moto x or the z3 compact (4.6" phone).

I thought 4.7 would be perfect. Even considered the 6 plus for a min. But now I'm kinda thinking along the same lines as you. I didn't think I did that much one handed, but I guess I do.

Blame the bezels. Even 4.9" is perfect with reasonable bezels.

I'd actually like a slightly smaller iPhone 6. Even a 4" screen in the iPhone 6 form factor would be nice. It is what it is for now though. The pendulum will probably swing back the other direction one day.

It is a bit tall... we need to lose the bezels! I can definitely manage for the time being though. Really enjoying the 6

Did it ever occur they cannot make a thinner bezel? Thus the reason a phone has never been created with such a feature? Technology has limits.

The 4.7 is too big because we've been using iPhones that are the perfect size for one-handed use. Now that's no longer possible. As soon as you get used to needing 2 hands some of the time, you'll never look back. When more functionality and apps are introduced for the size of the 6 I will make the jump but I just like the size of the 5/5S too much right now.

There are so many mass-produced phones with smaller bezels it's impossible to give this statement any weight.

Good width-wise but height is too much due to the bezels. I don't like being forced to move my hand or double-tap on the home button.
