What a bunch of crap. I'm sure Gmail would go around asking for peoples passwords.

I did not get this email. And if the Gmail team were really looking to delete the account they would have your password already. What was the email address of the person or group that sent it?

I also didn't get the email you've described. It looks very much like a phishing attempt.

Generally, organizations will *not* ask for sensitive account information. With the information they're asking for the phisher could commandeer your account, lock you out and use it for their purposes. Don't let the threat of your account being suspended affect you either, thats just another common attempt to get you to act quickly. Again, Google would *never* send an email like this. Report the message to Google here. Just don't fill out the information the email asked you for!

Good luck!

Edit: Just saw at the bottom of the OP that they already know its a scam. Still, its good advice for anyone else who finds this thread to heed.

Reminds me of that much-maligned MSN email that goes to the effect of "Forward this email or your account will get deleted".

Of course, this happens to take it a step further by actually asking for information.

Most likely a phising attempt, I didn't get that e-mail in any of my gmail accounts. Plus the sender e-mail is weird :p

The terrible grammar might also be a teensy weensy give-away, ya think? Wonder what would happen if the phishers finally learned how to write....

This doesn't even warrant a question mark. The sad thing is, spammers still do this, which means they still get bites. *shakes head*

Yep, they do.

I work IT for my university and one of those phishing e-mails were sent to a bunch of people on campus. Well, later that day, I got a call from one of the professors who couldn't access his e-mail or other things because his password didn't work. Turned out, he replied to the e-mail and they changed his password and who knows what else they did. Idiot
