Anyone else here recently get a facetime call from yourself or someone you know that wasn't actually calling you?

My girlfriend and I were sitting next to eachother and our phones both lit up saying we were calling eachother... Other people online are saying they're getting the same experience (calls from themselves, friends, etc)

Facetime isn't working right now either.... Could it be that someone is mucking with the FT server?

i got a facetime call from my cousin, but it never went through. SO probably!

Yep, I got this, opened a thread on it, but didn't see this at the time. Call logs don't even match up.

Definitely just got a call from a phone that was sitting right next to me. No one touched their phones, they both rang. One was from a phone the other one was from the computer....so strange!

Same Weird call

I was sitting next to my wife and I also received a facetime call from her. (Both of us have iPhone 4's but I am the one who has upgraded to IOS 4.2.1) My wife's phone was not even nearby. I didn't answer the call but I am concerned that it could have been hacked...or Is the network getting hacked?

I Called AT&T but they do not have reports of this activity from other customers at the moment.

Yeah, just happened to my wife. We are sitting about 6 feet away from each other and her phone goes off...she asks, "why are you FT'ing me?" I'm like...I'm reading MR right now, what are you talking about?

Weird?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

I just got a call from my girlfriend that she did not make (vice versa) and a call from my computer that is switched off... Odd....

Maybe apple FT servers have been hacked..

Weird, I just looked at the recent call detail and noticed that the FT call from my girlfriend was actually from her macbook pro not her iPhone 4... and that wasn't even on

Glad to see someone else experienced the mystery Facetime Call

Yes, my wife and I were watching a movie and our phones were sitting in the room. My wife's phone received a Facetime call from me around 9:27pm tonight. Called AT&T and they the person I talked to didn't have any other calls to her about the same issue. But, she did have a similar situation occur awhile back with her own phone and a friends. It was not a Facetime call though just regular voice.

AT&T didn't have a record of the incoming call as well. But did have one for the last voice call I placed. And of of course I can't call Apple because it's beyond normal business hours to see if they know anything.

I'll keep an eye on this thread! Thanks!!

Same thing here and exactly around that time 9:30 or so eastern time.
My wifes i4 facetime'd mine and we both didnt touch our phones and they were locked in our pockets with passcode on.
Weird.

This looks to be a ios 4.2 problem?
I'm on 4.0, been home all day with wifi on and no FT calls from anyone,

No, it affects 4.0 too. My wife received a face time call from my phone even though my phone was locked. I tried to answer it and the call got cancelled. Would have been funny if it wasn't 2.28am (gmt). We are in London and both have 4.0

Got one from myself in the middle of the night. I'm on 4.2.1.
It did 'hang up' on itself immediately, as in it rings and stops immediately.

yes! i was going to start a thread yesterday but didnt find the time. I received a call from a friends ipod touch that was actually completely dead and had been for several hours.

strange happenings.

edit: looking through the other replies, and checking my own phone, they all seem to have been at or very near 9:27 EST. definitely something weird going on.

Are these phantom calls all people you have facetimed with before? Has anyone gotten a call from someone that they have never used facetime with before?

It's Skynet! Somebody find John Connor!

Let the records show that Skynet became self aware via FaceTime on November 28th at 9:27 EST.

It's given up on Terminators and is now looking for him via FaceTime, at which point will make his iPhone 4 explode.

FaceTime in Germany, 3:27am

Had the same issue this night (Germany, 3:26am). First my phone rang up my girlfriend's, then she "called" me in turn. I answered her call, but it only went to "connecting" without any actual connection.

Suffice to say that we were a bit ticked off for being woken up in the middle of the night.

However, I'm rather curious to understand what caused these issues. Maybe there's a kind of queue for failed calls (it seems to happen to us quite regularly - either she can't call me or I can't call her) and that queue got messed up?

Can people here confirm that the calls happened with the last person they legitimately facetimed with?

PS: @applefan2010, AT&T has no record of that call since FaceTime does not go via their cellular network, but via the Internet. It doesn't cost anything either.

Can't wait to see the MR news post about this tomorrow...

Issue on Imac 27

Have Facetime installed on my Imac 27... Got a mysterious call a few days ago...

Same here. 8:26 PM CST. The person next to me, and her iPod touch she uses for Facetime was dead at that moment.

Very strange bug.
