Anyone else have issues with loading SD cards?

I have some game trail cams that one uses the older standard SD card and the other uses the newer SDHC. I never had too much of a problems on my old Dell laptop but sometimes my Macbook Pro won't recognize them and when it does, the cams don't like them when I put them back in. Any thoughts?

(I keep getting a popup for the updated Adobe Flash but I'm not certain I should download it).

I've not had any issues with SD cards on my rMBP.
