Mine started giving a service battery warning intermittently a few weeks ago, and this week the warning stayed on consistently. Capacity was at like 75% or something, and even then, the laptop would often just shut down at 20-30% remaining. 742 charge cycles. Thankfully I've got AppleCare
Took it into the genius bar, and the guy was telling me that this was the first retina MBP he's seen with a battery problem. Just curious to see how true that is. Also decided to finally complain about my image retention while I was at it, so hopefully they change the screen too.
Also, I've heard that they have to change the whole bottom case for the battery and whole screen assembly for the LCD -- is that true? If so, I guess I can expect a cosmetically new macbook when they ship it back to me?
