On my iPad Air (sold) I used an app called Splashtop (computer remote streaming like logmein) which worked pretty much perfectly.

But on my iPad Pro 10.5 there is stuttering every few seconds on my home network. I ignored it for a while as I thought this was either maybe the app or my network being weird. I brushed it off until I tried a game streaming app (Kino Console) today in which it also happened the exact same way here.

So I went ahead and used a pinging app to ping my router, and what do you know, every few seconds there is a ping spike (steady 10-16 ms until it spikes to 100-200ms then back down to 10-16) in there in the exact same way. Well, I tried an Android phone and it works perfectly. There is no lag spikes at all, and Splashtop/Kino Console works great.

I’ve rebooted my router many times so I don’t think it has anything to do with the router. I also tried this via 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, but it does the exact same thing.

I don’t really have anywhere else to test it right now, but seeing how other wifi devices ping works fine I don’t think it’ll help any.

Do you think it’s my iPad’s Wifi?
