After updating my 15" MacBook Pro (Early 2008) to 10.8.5, Wake on Demand over wifi no longer works (using a 4th gen. Airport Extreme with latest firmware). The Mac's name is still visible on the network but any attempt to connect results in a "Connection failed" error. Also, the Mac no longer seems to wake periodically to advertise itself on the network. Restoring 10.8.4 returns the correct behaviour. WoD over Ethernet works ok in 10.8.5 and my 2010 MacBook Air and brand new MacBook Pro both work ok, it's only the Early 2008 model which seems to be affected. I can only assume that the wifi update that has improved performance for most users has broken something for this particular model. Any suggestions for a work around would be appreciated, otherwise it looks as though I'm stuck with 10.8.4 for now and will just have to pray that the bug isn't carried over into Mavericks. I have filed a bug report with Apple.
