When I pull up the keyboard, e.g. to add a reminder, I'm finding it very difficult to activate voice dictation (the little microphone icon in the bottom right corner) on my new 41mm Series 9 running the latest WatchOS 10 release. I never had the same problem on my Series 7 running WatchOS 9.<latest>. I'm finding it really difficult to get my S9 to recognise my tap on the mic icon, it usually takes me at least 4 or 5 attempts to get it to activate if I try to tap it like I normally do. It improves matters if, instead of doing what for me is a normal tap, I instead sort of bounce my finger very briefly on top of the icon, I suppose a bit like wanting to test if something is hot (maybe your kitchen hob) so you touch it as briefly as possible to check rather than actually pressing your finger on it.

Is anyone else having a similar issue?

I have to tap on the top of the mic to get it to open. It was easier to open on watchOS 9

Brilliant. Thanks. It looks as if I was tapping too low. Tapping on the top of the mic icon, verging on above it or so it feels to me, is working pretty consistently for me now. It would be nice if it was a bit less fussy as it was in WatchOS 9 though. Early days for WatchOS 10 public availability though so perhaps one of many little things that might get tweaked in the coming year.
