iPod touch Anyone else having trouble with 2.0 update?

In the land of no hills and red dirt.
Been logging onto the iTMS to give Steve my ten bucks, and I keep getting this error message:

We could not complete your iTunes Store request.

The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.

Anyone else having this problem, or is it just me?

Also, are there any apps that other touch owners are salivating over (other than Super Monkey Ball)?
 
Now mine is sayint 2.0 available...but then Learn More turn into "could not complete itunes store request"..!!!!! :mad::mad::mad:

it's okay.
I'm having the same problem.
I want to buy it but, downloading it for free is much better. But, I can't restore my ipod with the firmware that I downloaded.
 
Ipod Touch/Itunes Problems

I woke up this morning and could not wait to go on my computer to get the new 2.0 software for my Ipod touch. When I tried to download it, some messege came up saying that the Itunes Store Was Unavailable. I was bummed.

Huh, I didn't see countless threads at the time I posted, that's why I posted a new thread.

I really did look. Honestly. For no other reason, than due to my annoyance with the five people a day who post "HELP! (blank) bricked my iTouch!" on the iPod touch hacks site without searching threads first.

I'd say this is the biggest FAIL Apple launch in my experience/ knowledge.

MobileMe - 2 hours delayed, over 24 hour launch period still not acting with full service.

iPhone 3G - Servers down so many people have to activate at home, still not available once people got home.

2.0 - iTunes servers down without download available, iTunes first tell your 1.1.4 is current, then says 2.0 is available, then says the store is down when attempting to download. After failed attempts of 2.0 upgrades, many 1st gen iPhone users can not use their phone now due to servers down.

App Store - Available a day before most users could even download the Apps to their devices. (not necessarily a fail, but it pissed me off)

A few points...

the app store was obviously released early to help deal with the high demand of the highly publicised 11th release date,

Mobileme, apple have admited having problems and the previous software was never that sucessful,

The rest is due to extremely high demand. I agree it could have been foreseen but really, not getting an update for an ipod within +/- a few hours hardly the end of the world, is it?
 
The servers are such a mess right now. Everyone needs to stop visiting Apple's sites (not going to happen).

Apple honestly should have released 2.0 to current iPod and iPhone owners on Monday to help relieve some of today's mess.

It better be working by 3:30 When i leave for vaction!

EDIT: NOW ITS SAYING THAT 1.1.4 IS THE CURRENT VERSION!! WTH!!
 
Geez, iPhone 3G have been available in Finland now over 19 hours, and there is no big rushes. I thought that update will be available when I wake up, no when I go sleeping.. Did'n think that update will be so clicked with US..
With me too it says it available, I click it, it says somethin I gotta purchase it, click for more information, I click and then it says thet error message..
Maybe I just wait to brighter tomorrow..

With the iTunes activation servers down, iTunes will keep switching between doing these two things:
  1. Telling you that 1.1.4 is the latest firmware
  2. Telling you that 2.0 update is available, but when clicking the Learn More link it will say that the iTunes store is temporarily unavailable
We're all getting those problems.

I bet the servers will definitely be up by 6PM PDT, and if they can do it correctly we'll see the servers back up by 1PM PDT.

About people not going on apple, that is the FIRST GOOD POINT I HAVE HEARD ALL DAY about this problem.
