I think it was pre-iOS 18 where if I didn’t use the settings app for a little while, it would open up to the main screen again. I wish it would still do this because I still find it really frustrating and confusing when I want to open settings and I have to dig myself out of page after page to get back to the main screen.

I wish there were settings for settings so I can tell it to not store the last page I was on indefinitely.

Also I just learned that you can hold down on the back arrow and get a drop down menu to return to any previous screen!

Edit: it’s system wide!!

It was probably getting pushed out of memory. I don't think that was by design.
Regardless of it being by design, I typically wanna open my settings to the main page. In macOS you don’t open settings to the last tab you were on. It would make more sense for an app like settings to open fresh after an hour or so.

Also, I know this is possible because messages doesn’t open to the last person you were texting. It opens to the conversation list after a little while.

Holy hell, yes, I really wish there was a button for "return to top" in Settings. I hate opening it up, wanting to just hit wifi or something, and finding I'm still like 6 levels deep in some other menu.

I did not know about the press-and-hold trick with the back button, so that will certainly help.

I just tried settings, went into subs and haptic then noise (something). Came back out. Saved went straight back in and was at the first page.
