I like the Ultra so far, but I’m not completely blown away by it.

My biggest issue is that I’ve been trying some of my sport bands with it, and the proportions are off. The bands seem just a little too thin for the watch, to the point where it makes the watch look bulkier than it already is.

Don’t get me wrong, I think the watch itself is beautiful, and I actually really like the green Alpine Loop it came with. I was just hoping my other bands would look just as good as they do with my SS model.

Completely disagree with your assessment. I love the way my Hermes orange sports band looks on my Ultra. It’s a perfect fit and I prefer it to the Alpine and Ocean bands.

I’m not that big on how my sport loop looks but my leather loop bands look just fine.

Glad to hear that! It honestly might just be a matter of me being used the proportions from the 45mm version. Maybe I just need more time with it.

I completely agree with you. While regular bands are ok they do look on a thinner side with Ultra. My wife is the opposite of me so I don’t know. I love Ultra Alpine one and Ocean one. They look better in reality than in pictures.

Yes, absolutely. I was going to open a new thread about this until I saw yours. I compared the regular sport loop with the alpine loop and this one is noticeably wider, even the part that goes into the Watch is wider. The regular bands are too narrow for the Ultra, they are more like made for smaller watches.

All of the bands that I had from previous watches didn’t look quite right with the ultra. Until I tried the original black silicone Apple Watch band. The black band compliments the black face and makes the titanium look even better (less big even).

I think they look fine.

I got mine with the Alpine loop but don't really like that. I wanted the Trail loop but that was backordered super fast on the online store. I'm currently using a Nike Sport loop for the time being. It's too skinny compared to the chunky looking AWU. Trying to find a wider nylon band or something.

I agree. I think it’s the thickness. I love my orange alpine loop. Tried all of my Nike Sport bands and Nike Sport Loops, and Apple Sport Loops and they all feel/look like not enough width. Inversely, the ultra bands look very good on the S7. Thinking I was being pro active, I purchased the new Apple Midnight Sport Loop thinking the hints of orange would compliment it and it they did, it just appeared too narrow.

When I run, I use my Nike Sport Loop.

I purchased a white Ocean Band yesterday to hold me over. Until maybe more Ultra bands are released?

No issues for me. Some older bands take on a whole new life with the Ultra. Loving the OG Olive Flak and the newer Ironstone Nike sport loops with it.

I think it looks fine with most bands. Great with some. I do think it would look good with a true wide band that was the same thickness as the watch. I think an extra wide mesh or Ti band would be killer.
