I dont remember the last time I saw a major update for Cydia, or any update for Winterboard. Any word on improvements for these?

Surick put out a major Cydia update for iOS 4.2.X recently. I don't think he'll put it on Cydia as an update for older iOS devices.

I think the OP may be referring to the fact that Cydia is still at version 1.0. It still uses their custom scrolling algo, which sucks btw, and doesn't run very efficiently. Cydia needs to be completely rewritten.

for something free it works great, ever heard the phrase dont look a gift horse in the mouth?

Bingo, I SSH'd the new Cydia to my 4.1 JB iPhone. I want a real update. I dont even notice half of the improvements supposedly in the new version.

That's still true in the new version. Half the time I tap on ads by accident when trying to scroll down. Why not use the iPhone's native scrolling algo that works well?

It's definitely faster at downloading releases and reloading but it still doesn't reload in the background while using it as it should.

Also is multitasking too much to ask for!? That's my biggest complaint with Cydia. I usually don't complain about it because it's free but one can't ignore the glaring flaws either.

multitasking support would be GREAT, and also, STOP TURNING OFF MY WINTERBOARD TWEAKS WHEN I"M USING CYDIA!!!! ggggrrrrrr

Why cant they just push this update through cydia?

Even though Microsoft may have invented an installer, which allows you to update Windows while running Windows, this is clearly not something @chpwn want to spend time on

I agree it's a pain having started Cydia only to find out that wifi is disabled but installing/uninstalling tweaks, such as WB stuff, which hooks into MobileSubstrates is a recipe for disaster.

I'd be more happy with a jailbreak section so people didn't keep clogging the board with problem threads due to their JBing....but searching is a good place to start.
