For the last couple days I've been running Mojave on a cloned external SSD in my Late 2012 Mini, the quad 2.6 GHz i7 Server version. Under Sierra and HS it was not uncommon for this Mac to get hot. Really hot. I'd use iStat Menus and I'd routinely see temps in the 80s (ºC) and often into the 90s -- and occasionally, up to 101º or 102ºC.
Since I've been using Mojave, at least after the first hour or two when a lot of background stuff was optimizing, I've rarely seen temps over 70º. Now maybe I'm using the Mac differently than under HS, but I've tried to run the same mix of stuff. As best as I can tell, Mojave is running cooler -- a LOT cooler.
Has anyone else noticed significantly cooler CPUs with Mojave, especially enclosed tight spaces like a Mini or a MBP? It's bizarre to use this Mac and see 55º CPU readouts for stuff that usually seems to come in around 70º-75º.
