I certainly do. The only one I have been using is "Digital" because its the only one that is loud enough for me to hear.

Apple NEEDS to allow songs as ringtones, and develop better ones then avaliable right now.

What does everyone else think?

Actually, the ability to use purchased music (and maybe even video) as ringtones was one of the reasons I was going to buy an iPhone.

When I found out that this particular feature wasn't available (at least not until a major software revision) I opted out of buying one.

Better ringtones could help too - the ones I experienced in the store seemed too quiet.

But, now that I think about it. A lot of folks have a lot more media then what could possibly fit onto an 4g/8g iPhones flash. So if you go and assign a bunch of different songs as ringtones for specific (or nonspecific) callers and then change out your entire iPhone library, you're left with a bunch of unassigned ringtones for callers.

I suppose in that situation, it could just go to a default ring. Hmm.

Either way, my deal breaker is songs as ringtones.

i also think they suck

but have you noticed the ringtone that is on the iPhone commercials isn't on there

They are certainly better than hearing someone's phone ring with "Buy U A Drank" or some such garbage.

No kidding. I don't mind this at all right now... it'll come. Actually, I wish I could take away all obnoxious thugtardtones from my daily experience, but alas... no.

Myself, I'm going to have some actually *good* tones. Beatles, oldies, instrumental, soundtrack stuff... things that wouldn't offend anyone and does not express a particular imprudent side of me. ;) Though I do have one person that has to be assigned "The Only Gay Eskimo," lol.

I actually like the default one. I also am partial for the duck sound one. :)

That being said, I always leave my phone on vibrate- I think ringtones are EXTREMELY rude.

Also, wasn't it uncovered that a "convert to ring tone" button is in iTunes and will be released soon (but would carry a 99 cent charge)?

Don't hate.

I was hoping to have "Oh Timbaland" though. I'm not amused by the lack of custom ring tones. Without a doubt, that's my least favorite part of my iPhone. I currently have the old phone set as my ringer which is about as lame as it gets.

I do not hate, but yes they suck!
Apple or someone will soon put out ringtones and for sure Apple will add music ringtones for a fee.

I like the current ringtones (although I'm sure I will get tired of them quickly)
On my piece of s%!#@ RAZR I would cut ringtones on my mac in Protools and bluetooth the file to my RAZR. Different songs for my callers and no cost since I already had purchased the music for my collection.

If I was going to place a bet on the future of the iPhone and ringtones I would suspect they will be part of the increasing content in the iTunes store and that should be iFun but not iFree.

I'm using the Xylophone one, because it sounds almost EXACTLY like the theme from "American Beauty," which happens to be one of my favorite movies. :p

I agree that the ringtones arent that good. The volume is just not loud enough. Driving with the music on, and you cant hear a single one. Granted theres the vibrate and ring feature, but ive never had to use that in any phone in the past.
I like this type of tone, just more, and LOUDER! Im not a big fan of music/mp3's as ringtones, so i could care less about that feature.
I just hope that they give us some new Apple tones through iTunes.

I actually like the ringtones. They're definitely the best (and most plentiful) default ringtones I've ever had with any phone.

yeah, they suck. theres a couple decent ones.

like a poster above said, i used to take my mp3s, cut out a small clip and move that mp3 via bluetooth over to my RAZR. i loved being able to do that. wtf Apple??

I LOVE them. I usually don't go with crazy with ringtones and have used the "old phone" on many of my phones.

Even if I could put my own on I would still be using Marimba. Just takes me back to the Keynote everytime I hear it.

I DO think we do need support for personal ringtones.
