Anyone else think the white iPhone 4 "Later this year" estimate is a deterrent?

I'm thinking that Stevie J would never have given an "End of July" estimate if there was any chance that it may be as late as a few months down the road. What if, hypothetically ... There was going to be a delay of maybe a few more weeks, so they would have to make an announcement that would result in bad PR regardless, so they decided that they would give an ambiguous "Later this year" date to hopefully thwart a few "return and re-buy" people?

Just a thought. Anyone else have this thought cross their mind? Or am I just too optimistic that my patience won't go unrewarded?
