New speaker grill is actually an improvement; the old one attracted unsightly bits of dust and crumbs.

Speaker Grille
The speaker perforations on each side of the new MacBook Pro keyboard were too small to die-cut, but too big to cut with existing laser technology. So the production team commissioned a first-of-its-kind industrial-grade laser to cut all 4000 holes in less than a minute.

There you go, does that make you appreciate them some more?

Laser drilling 2000 precision holes into either side of a notebook is quite an impressive feat. Doing it in <1 minute is cool too.
