I just got my new iPhone Pro Max , coming from a note 10 plus I find the grip so much more comfortable over the note . I’m planning not using a case but a sleeve to put my phone in when I go out . I have 60 days to get AppleCare plus which makes me justify the decision.

anyone else not use a case ?

I want to. I’ve never ever dropped any of my phones, but I’m scared if I go without a case then I will drop it and regret not using a case.

Also the reason for not dropping my phones is probably the added grip from the cases.

I did very briefly whilst I waited for a case to be delivered and didn’t like it at all. The back is too slippy and I was worried about dropping it the whole time.

My iPhone 11 is in a case permanently now. Thankfully!

You do realize that if you drop your phone even once it's gone right? Are you willing to sacrifice such an expensive phone for the nice feeling to go "case less"?

I've never been one to use a case with my phones. I did use a case at times with my 3G/S because it was slippery, but anything newer than that I go caseless most days. Dropped probably 10 times in the last decade and never shattered a phone.

I’ve never used a case, and don’t on my X either. I also don’t go in for AppleCare. Different strokes, I guess. I’ve always debated if I should take better care of it and heard someone make the point “why should I enjoy it less so the person I sell it to later can enjoy it more?”. Took that to heart and stopped worrying about it...

At this point, if I dropped and shattered one, I’d call it a wash after all these years. If I broke two in succession, I’d probably rethink my approach.

It is a phone at the end of the day. I've never used a case since my very first iPhone and I won't be using one on my 11 Pro. I have mobile insurance with my bank but it would still cost me £200 to replace it due to the excess, but even so, I cant stand cases and prefer the feel of a phone as it was envisioned. I have a manual labour job yet have never dropped my phone from a height, although have managed the odd scratch here and there, but I never sell my phones on, and just trade them in and have never felt like I was being shortchanged.

I don’t use cases. I find that unless you remove cases often, you get build up of debris and grit in them that actually scratches the back/sides of the iPhone. Removing cases constantly is a pain, especially because lots of them are super tight to get on and off. No thanks.

I put my iPhone in a soft pouch when I go out. Otherwise, it’s naked in the house.
