Kept this wallpaper since the iPhone X. Maybe I’m just a weirdo?

Anyone else use the same wallpaper for every iPhone they recently got ?

No…and yes.

My wallpaper (desktops, laptops, phones) tends to reflect themes or concepts that are important to me, but usually only to me. It changes as I improve upon it. Eventually I am satisfied and the wallpaper becomes 'fixed'. Only then will it transfer forward to another device I feel should have it.

In this way, I have multiple wallpapers on multiple devices representing different themes and concepts. But eventually all become fixed and it's at that point that the wallpaper stays the same for the next device I think should have it.

EDIT: See the link in my signature. That is a panoramic wallpaper that spans six displays (of eight) and too me over four years of iteration after iteration to finally get right. For the Mac this wallpaper is on and the Macs/PCs that will replace it in the future, this is the wallpaper those will get.

I don’t keep the same wallpaper for years because eventually it gets old and I try to find another one. But I don’t change wallpapers when I get a new phone. I restore from a backup and keep it looking exactly the same.

It’s hard for me to find new wallpapers because I need them simple enough so the icons on my home screen don’t blend into the wallpaper, but not so simple where it’s boring.

❌ I don’t do that except that I still have my stock iOS 17 wallpaper from my old iPhone XR I transferred to my 15 Pro!

I make new ones over my old ones!
