Anyone else with 3G issues and iOS4? Rollback?

My wife's 3G was updated to iOS4 and her phone died at about 3pm today after normal use. Never happened before. No multitask but I've read about some wifi being left on when phone was asleep? Isnt kind of annoying to have to turn it on and off anytime you want to you your phone?

Also, is a rollback even possible if there is an old backup available?
