I own some different apple devices and one of them is the M1 11" iPadPro (max. equipped).

For better readability and to spare energy I use always dark mode.
At least since installing IOS18 I have the following problem:

When I copy a text (it doesn´t matter if black on white or white on black) and paste it in my email-app (of a very well known email-provider with very good software since more than 20 years which they update reguarily) , the text is not visible - but it is there as I see by the space it requires. The pasted text is either white on white or black on black background.

I contacted the software-team of my email provider two months ago to inform them about the problem. At THAT time I did not yet know that it has something to do with the dark mode.

it took until 1 week before that I thought spontaneously it has perhaps someting to do with the dark mode.

So I made a test and changed from blackmode to white mode, then copied the text and pasted it in the email.
Now it worked perfectly and so I had proof that the problem is connected with the darkmode.

I informed again my email-provider via feedback of the software-team, but received no answer until today.

Now I wonder if the "Blackmode-problem" using copy and paste is apple`s problem or that of the email-provider?

THEREFORE I try to get feedback from others here who use often or mostly black-mode to know if thes have a smilar problem.

Of course changing between both modes back and forth if needed is a possible and easy work-around, but I´d like that it works as comfortable as before in older IOS VERSIONS...

And your answers if YES or NO will help me to know if this is really just a problem of my email-provider oder more one more bug of the IOS 18... ;)

Thank you in advance for just answer with your experience !

I’ve tried to replicate this with many apps and I haven’t been able to. I copied your text and even pasting it into light-mode Pages and, with a blank Pages document, it adds a black background behind the text so it is readable.

I’ve been using Dark Mode on iPadOS 18 since I got my 11th-gen iPad last month, and I’ve had no issues whatsoever.

For what it’s worth, I also have an iPad Air 5 on iPadOS 15, I’ve also been using Dark Mode, and I haven’t had any issues there, either.

I did only try native apps, no third-party email providers, so perhaps it’s that, I don’t know.

Have you tried this elsewhere? On the Notes or Pages app?

I copied often the url of some YouTube Videos or citations texts from online-news or even my pages app.
Always the same: If pasted in my email account (don’t use apple´s mail-app, have not even activated it) during black-mode the result is either black on black or white on white.
If I do the same with white mode, it works as it should.

Hope the software-team of gmx.de will respond one day. Until now they have not…

Yeah, I reckon it’s a bug of your email provider’s app.
