Anyone else's earpiece _really_ quiet?

I just took a call on my iPhone 5, purchased today. The earpiece is so quiet compared to the iPhone 4 that I also own, it also sounds like its pretty low bit-rate, noticeably digitised sounding, if you know what I mean. Does anyone else have this, or is it just my earpiece that's rubbish?

Just a question but do you still have the clear plastic protective cover on it from the factory?

If so, take that off and you will notice a BIG difference.


If not, I have no idea then.
