My Mac is behaving strange. Spinning beach ball for ages, no way to click on Force Quit.

Have to push power button to start and stop.

And then sometimes, when switching between users the screen of one user disappears but you just get the spinning hweel sign and never a log-in window.

So I looked in logs and saw this:

Fri Aug 22 15:41:35 Macintosh.config Dock[104] <Error>: The function `CGSUniqueCString' is obsolete and will be removed in an upcoming update. Unfortunately, this application, or a library it uses, is using this obsolete function, and is thereby contributing to an overall degradation of system performance. Please use `CFSTR' instead.

It appears every time I start up now.

the only thing I have done in the past hour which has changed my system (PPC) is install CoolIris, but that has nothing to do with the dock!

Help!
