I got a scratch off this morning, and won $500!!

Has anyone else won anything ever?

very nice! i buy a scratch off from time to time. a few days i bought a $5 card and won $500 and shortly after purchased my new iPhone 6

My brother won $400,000 once. He has three kids, and he's saved all of it so he can pay for their college tuitions; saying that he wished our dad had done that for us. Very thoughtful of him.

However, I think I saw him wearing a new coat the other day....

I won $480 on a slot machine and took this pic:

The most I've won playing lotto is a whopping $10

But I did win $12,000 in a poker tournament in Atlantic city one time.

I won 150$ once but my favourite was when I went to check my tickets late one night while buying cigarettes.

The terminal the guy was using started making all these noises and flashing, I thought I won a 1 Million $. I won 28 cents on an extra, not even a free play. Since we have no more pennies in Canada I walked out with 30 cents!!!

Most I ever won was on a $5 scratch ticket $1,000 and a couple of $500! Just don't think its easy to win thats how the lottery and gambling gets you! Spend it wisely! lol Congrats!!

my father used to get scratchers all the time when i was a kid, he would let me scratch them off. i scratched a $50,000 winner in palm springs, from lucky's. i never saw a penny from it. as they paid off their caddy and started my sisters modeling career.

Cool, which scratch off? I've won 500 on a scratch off, too. A couple of 100 scratch offs and the pool I run at work hit $600 once. Still waiting for the big one...

How'd that work out for her?

On a family vacation recently, we played a game where each person threw in 3 lottery tickets, and the winner got all of them. We did two rounds, so six tickets each. There were 11 adults, so that was 66 tickets. The grand total winnings came to about $15. Those things are a rip.

I've never won a thing on scratchies, I'm always ahead on poker machines at some point but that's the thing with poker machines. They give you a little then take the lot.

When it first became legal, I was all excited and naïve. Bought a set to give my parents and sisters some each for Christmas. Total payout, something like $5. None of us have played since.

The good thing about wasting your money on lottery tickets/scratchcards in the UK is at least you know around 50% of the money is going to good causes of some kind (of course not always things you'd prefer, but usually worthwhile nonetheless to someone else).

So you don't feel like a complete loser when you...erm...lose, and the few quid you spend each week vanishes! :D

Some years ago I chose some numbers for 6/49 (Canadian lottery). I realise lotteries are a mug's game, but since I have the numbers in my head I cannot not play them :(

And don't say "just don't look at the numbers ever again". I cannot help myself looking when I have forgotten to play.
