I'm looking for one of the original iBook clamshell colored bags by Maccase. It appears the company still made them until a few years ago, but now I can't find one at all. Thought it would be neat to have one or more of them, as they look nice.

You know exactly who might have them stockpiled at two feet above sea level, probably in a house situated over a karst formation which someday will become a giant sinkhole…

These are very hard to find. 2 years ago I saw an orange one for sale together with a matching orange iBook clamshell. Asking price at the time was 110euros (approx $US110). Still regret not buying it.

I understand that Maccase designed and marketed this in 1999 for the coloured Clamshell iBook series, and the legal-beagles at Apple also allowed the tactifully 'relooked' logo.....

If you’re keeping tabs, I’m categorically referring to Polka-Dot Man (this thread’s “Florida Man”), who’s based in Miami (~2ft above sea level, give or take a metre), located in a state completely pockmarked by karst geology responsible for causing a mess of major sinkholes with little to no warning.

In short, I dislike him.

Back on topic: I’ve been emailing with the president of MacCase and he’s gonna check and see if he can find me one more Clamshell iBook bag. That would sure be sweet.

I sent Mr. whatever you want to call it on eBay a message regarding one of his iBooks that had a MacCase pictured with it. I got this response.

“Hello, No need i do have few in stock for the years to come, and this one laptop is very special (PERFECT AND POLISHED) Anyway THANK YOU...”

Why do I suddenly feel this inexplicable, ineffable urge to throw anything which isn’t anchored to the floor…

Craziness, isn't it? I just found one on Amazon for $55. It said one left in stock. I ordered it right away. I'l keep this thread updated it it works out.

He’s a heckin’ menace to humanity.

QED.

If he could put polka-dots on an infant and describe the little sproglet as "PVT-PERFECT!" and charge $500,000, he'd be there in a hot minute. And then eBay would have to intervene and take down the auction, but not before it received news coverage and then went viral.

I've had one of these to keep my blue iBook in. I find it to be a tight squueze with the power adapter. Do you have any issues fitting everything in?
