I purchased my Macbook air more than a month ago online. I am thinking of returning this laptop but the new return policy doesn't seem very clear.
Can I still return this within 14 days after my local apple store re-opens?
I am in Canada by the way.

There have been mixed responses for those who have contacted Apple Store support about for clarification about the policy in various threads here. It seems you should be able to return it after your local store re-opens, but I think until we hear someone's actual experience doing this, we won't feel confident about it.

Thanks. Why wouldn't they make this clear? :(

Hello, I was able to return a MacBook computer that I purchased in early May after my local store re-opened a few days ago. No questions asked. Good luck!

Your post say 'more than a month ago'. I am assuming the reason you wrote 'more than a month ago' is because of lockdown, am i right?

If you wanted to return the macbook within the 14 day return window which is very common in many countries consumer law but was unable to due to lockdown, did you phone or email Apple to inform them that you wished to return the macbook within the 14 day window? Is there any record of you doing this because if not you will find your rights are very limited. If you had contacted Apple within the 14 day return windown, consumer law is on your side but if you have no evidence you did so then you are basically at the mercy of Apples good nature because Apple could come back and say you broke the machine during lockdown but are now trying to get it returned and refunded under the 14 day return policy.

I understand the confusion because the wording on Apple's website about returns during the pandemic changed. Here is a link to a post that explains.

The original wording was:

Q. How can I return an order I bought online while under shelter in place orders?
A:
Start a return online at apple.com/orderstatus, where you can create a return shipping label to ship your product from a drop off point or schedule a pickup at your location. You can also return your product to an Apple Store within 14 days of the store's reopening."

The current wording is:
