iOS Anyone figured out how to tap into camera?

Hello world!

This is my first post so please forgive me if this issue has been addressed, I have searched the forum...

I want to make an app that evolves depending on what the camera "sees"

I therefore need to periodically take a "look through" the camera and analyze it. All this needs to happen automatically without any need of interaction.

I gathered from my reading that the only way the sdk can communicate with the camera is through the standard snapshot viewfinder which would render my idea impossible...

Please correct me if I'm wrong (hope I am)!!

Maybe, just maybe, this is going to be possible in 3.1. I can't say for sure without breaking my NDA.
